This isn't something that is restricted to only a certain amount of people so that no one else can get a taste of it though. It's of the Spirit, so it's not dependent on a certain thing to "happen". It's not "happiness" because happiness depends on what "happens". Joy has more substance than that. It's a fruit of the Spirit. When a person believes on Jesus, and repents from sin, they can also taste the joy of the Spirit. Because when they believed in Christ He identified them as His own by giving them the Holy Spirit. So, when a person has the Spirit they can taste the joy of being saved. The joy in having their sins wiped clean and made new. The joy of knowing that trials or tribulations aren't the end but forever in Heaven is. A beautiful and glorious place..

Ephesians 1:13-14

13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

So, don't let satan steal the joy of your salvation. The Spirit of God given to us is God's "guarantee!" that He will give us, as believers, salvation. So, if something has been going on and it's been overwhelming you then take some breathers from what's been going on around you and know that God is God and you are His child. He is faithful and He as a purpose even after all that you've been going through. Have faith, trust God's will for your life, remain faithful, and love others..

But if you decide to go against God's law one time don't let satan steal your joy by beating yourself down. Confess the sin, forsake it, and get into prayer as to why you did, and ask God to refine your heart in that area. Don't just beat yourself down with, "You call yourself a christian? Come on! Be real with yourself". The Christian walk has ups and downs. Peter denied Jesus three times when he promised that he wouldn't deny Him. Matthew 26, Mark 14 And what happened after that? Jesus forgives him and tells him to feed His sheep. John 21:17 Forgiving is as easy as drinking as glass of water for Jesus. Just don't let your shame keep you from obtaining forgiveness..

So, when you come to a down, whether it be sin, a problem with a certain relationship, gossip from a close friend, or a tragic thing that happened, then take the promises of God's word and take refuge in them. If you need to apply the confessing to your sins then apply it and get back to living in peace. Get back to enjoying joy of your salvation..
There is faith righteousness, and works righteousness. Both of those are about salvation. but only one of them is not perverted. Works righteousness "for salvation" is the perverted one. It is perverted because no man can be justified in God's eyes through works, and this post goes through why that is. Through faith in Jesus Christ is how one is saved. Through faith in Christ, through Jesus's blood and resurrection, is how one is justified from their sin..

Romans 3:22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

That includes your mom, your dad, or someone on the news who has brutally murdered fifteen little children. God's grace is God's grace and He doesn't change just because "you" may not think they deserve it. News flash, if you do think that, you don't deserve it either and neither do i, it's grace. God's love, grace, and mercy is not confounded by the wisdom, knowledge, or perception of man. So, why don't we just let God be God and extend grace to whoever He sees worthy, shall we?..Let's get back to this post..

Galatians 2:16

16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

So, no amount of works "by the law" will "save" someone. This is talking about "salvation". Being "justified" before God is through faith in Christ Jesus. When a person tries to gain salvation through commandment keeping it is not only legalism, but it will never work. It will never work because everyone has sinned. That sin must receive payment and the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23 The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord.) No amount of commandment keeping outside of faith, and belief, in Christ will pay that payment. Let's go through a passage in Galatians though. That book talks about legalism so lets see what God's word says...

Galatians 2:17-21

17 But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law. Would that mean Christ has led us into sin? Absolutely not! 18 Rather, I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down. 19 For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God. 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

So, lets go through verse 17. I believe to "abandon the law" means to leave it and sin, to leave it and choose different than to obey. So a person stands "guilty" because they sinned. Now about verse 19; when a person today tries to keep the law, for salvation, it already condemns them because they have already transgressed it. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, When a person transgresses God's law someone else must die, shed their blood, for their sin in order for them to be set free from it. As the Bible says, "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness" Hebrews 9:22. So, God is just and He will receive payment. Commandment keeping, after one has sinned, is not sufficient enough to receive forgiveness. And what it comes down to is the laws of sin and death. Everyone has sinned and the wages of sin is death. Only by someone else dying in their place, having no sin, will take that payment away. Does that make sense? Jesus Christ died not for His own sin but for the sins of mankind. Through Him, and only Him, can mankind be saved and are saved. That's why no man can come to the Father except through Him.

John 14:6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Outside of Christ no man goes to Heaven, because outside of Christ means they still have their payment of death to pay. If someone tries to get someone else to die for them they are only paying the payment that they owe since they also have sinned. So, through Jesus Christ, through the sinless and spotless lamb of God, is how anybody will be set free from their payment of death. No amount of works righteousness, commandment keeping, will change that. Because of the wage of sin.

Galatians 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ,..

So, trying to keep commandments "for salvation" is what legalism is. Legalism is "not" keeping God's commandments "after" they put their faith in Christ. It doesn't matter what testament the commandments are found. Here is a passage that sums up what I've been talking about..

Galatians 3:10-14

10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, "Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all these commands that are written in God's Book of the Law." 11 Consequently, it is clear that no one can ever be right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." 12 How different from this way of faith is the way of law, which says, "If you wish to find life by obeying the law, you must obey all of its commands." 13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." 14 Through the work of Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, and we Christians receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.

In verse 13 it says, "rescued from the curse pronounced by the law". That curse is death. Jesus sets believers free from that curse of death through their faith.

2 Corinthians 5:21

21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

So, Jesus is an offering for our sin. Why is He an offering for sin, and not "uncle Sam"? Because "uncle Sam:" sinned and he can't be an offering for someone else's sin when he, himself, has sins to already account for, if he is without Christ. Jesus being holy is how He is able to be the offering for sin. Hebrews 4:14-16

So, after knowing what legalism is, what are believers to do after faith? We are to keep God's commandments, and love others as ourselves. Ecclesiastes 12:13

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

So, if someone says you're being "legalistic" by simply obeying God's commandments from faith then don't take it to heart. Believe it or not, not everyone in the church is called to be a teacher so don't take their word at it. Analyze what they say and see if it fits. If it doesn't fit, then don't give it anymore attention. We are saved through faith and through that faith we must have works showing from that faith or our faith is not really faith but dead faith.. James 2:14-26

James 2:14-26

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

In another place in the Bible it talks about putting on meekness. That's something that is suppose to be done by all believers. Colossians 3:12

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,

To be "meek" is to be submissive to God's law This doesn't have to be a 'submit submit submit, or else!' but like a child trusting their dad having the best at heart for him. He trusts his dad so he submits to his instructions and follows.

So, a believer who says, "You are being legalistic. We are not under the law anymore." ought to submit to God's law. "Putting on" compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,..

But suppose the person is right and we are not "under the law". That would mean we can act lawlessly if we truly aren't "under the law" in how they are using it. Matthew 7 Where do the works from faith come in then? Where does the commandment keeping come in? We are not "under the law" in case of "earning salvation", or under it's penalty of death, but we most certainly are under the law in the sense of we are to obey. We aren't above the law, and neither was Jesus in the sense of not having to obey. Sin is still called sin and sin is transgression of God's law. How can we have sincere godly faith and not show works coming from that faith? Is repenting not the forsaking, and confessing, of sin? It most certainly is. So, if we forsake sin then we ought to obey God..

Romans 6:15-23

15 Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, (set us free from the curse of death) does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. 17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. 18 Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.

19 Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. 21 And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. 22 But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

So, after this post, what have you learned?.. Doing works "for salvation" is wrong. Doing works from faith is right, and godly. James 2:14-26 Both of those aren't the same. If you need to take note of what legalism means then take a note. It means keeping God's commandments "for salvation". Not to show our love and appreciation towards God after faith in His Son, Jesus..

Here are some extra scriptures..

Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right: The righteous walk in them. But the transgressors stumble in them. Hosea 14:9

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, "by his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments... 1 John 5:2-3

John 14:15-21

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Revelation 19:8

So, here are some passages to practice on. See if you can figure out which type of righteousness it's talking about in context..

Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 6:1

So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. Romans 5:18

Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Romans 6:16

and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:18

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. Romans 10:5

But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: … Romans 10:6

for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:10

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, Philippians 3:9

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5

who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, Hebrews 11:33

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1 John 2:29

Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 1 John 3:7

Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy. Revelation 22:11
(c&p)

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24

So, that's what legalism is. No one can be saved through works because they need their sin removed first. That is only done through faith in Christ. This faith is the righteousness for salvation. To be "justified" in God's sight is to have their sin removed through the blood of Christ.
So, contrary to the "judge not lest you be judged" that gets thrown around out of context, believers are actually commanded to judge. They are also commanded to not judge based on appearance as well. So how can we judge righteously, effectively, powerfully, gentle, in love, and still be faithful to obey God?..

Well, first lets talk about how to do it in love..

So, really meditate about yourself and how you would want to be judged by your actions and what you would want you to hear, Would you like to keep being thrown, "you're going to hell if you don't repent!!" over and over and over? I bet not. So don't be doing that to other people..
Love others as you love yourself. This is a cornerstone on how judging should be done. Would you withhold the truth about where you are heading from yourself, or would you like to know the reality? Would you like to be told in a way that's gentle, or sharp? The consequence isn't going to go away. That consequence being told already has enough there, you don't need to add "sharpness" to it by being rude, or mean. His word is already sharper than a two-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12 12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

So, tell them the consequence in a gentle way. God is just, and if they don't turn and be forgiven then there is payment to pay, and God will get justice. If they don't turn to Christ, and believe in their heart, they will pay that payment. So, death, the second death, is what one will pay if they aren't forgiven. Just lay the truth out in front of them with love like how i write this to you. It's not that we don't want them to be forgiven or God is somehow holding the forgiveness away from them on a "just because" basis. He is willing to forgive, but it comes down to confessing and forsaking, walking away from, sin, and turning to Christ..
So, what would you like to know? What would you need? Mercy? Forgiveness? Grace? Salvation? What would you like to know? If you would like to know how to receive mercy, forgiveness, grace, salvation, then learn how to receive those things, according to God's word, so that you can help others..

Proverbs 28:13 says Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. That's how one receives mercy, and the mercy of God is new each morning! Lamentations 3:23 It "never!" runs out, and neither does His love.. Psalm 107

So, take note of that verse, and have it ready for people. If you get to talking with people, and witnessing, it can be apart of your heart, and if it's in the core you don't even have to "remember" it.. This is apart of "repentance"..

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Notice it says "purify from all unrighteousness". So that means if they confess their sins to God that they have a "clean slate!" from their past sins. That's awesome news! All means all. Unrighteousness is anything and everything that one does that goes against God's law. Here it is in 1 John 1:9 saying if they confess their sins He is "faithful" and will forgive them from their sins. He is quick to forgive. What a person must do is forsake and confess their sin.

Grace is unmerited favor. There's not a, " go and attend church for x amount of days and then you receive grace" thing..

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Grace is received through faith. Through faith in Christ is how one receives grace to be saved.

Some believers act as "messengers", or plant a seed of truth and move on. Pray for them, that God may send another to water and for it to grow. We are not people who hand out "free tickets to Heaven", though. So don't paint a picture in your head that it's up to you to save them. You are not the "saver". God is the one who brings a person to salvation. John 6:44 So find some rest in knowing that you are not called nor commanded to save anyone. When you approach it's about sharing the gospel. Sharing God's word in love. Planting seeds of truth. Each person could benefit from counting the cost of what they want, and that's something that's done in their heart/mind, when no one is there, and that's where praying comes in..

Pray for the people that you share the gospel with. Even if the person is angry, or doesn't seem responsive to the things that you tell them. God knows the core hearts of man. You don't...... So think about what you would need if you were in their position, peace, truth, help, a miracle, God's power, etc. and then pray. Pray like you would for your own wife, girlfriend, kid, best friend, dad, brother, make sure that you make them mean something to your heart.. Maybe imagine you being them, and then pray for them as you would have someone else pray for you..
It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.. 1 Corinthians 3:7..
Be praying for God's will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Pray that God would cause the seed to grow in their heart. Pray God's will into accord..

So, what about Matthew 7? Well let's get into it so that when you get it quoted to you, by an unbeliever or a professing christian, you can know the context..

So, this was talking about hypocritical judging. As Jesus says, "Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye". Notice Jesus already made a "judgement" about someone. He says "Hypocrite!". So, He didn't sin there since Jesus is without sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21 But don't just "judge" without trying to help them..

As a doctor gives a diagnosis of their patient's problem so that they may know and be helped, if they want help, is how this "judging" can work. They may not desire help because the cost is too much. They could like the sound of help or the ideal of help but don't want to pay the cost. Just like a patient in the real word, people like help but are they willing to pay the cost to receive it? The cost in order to have help, in order to be forgiven and set free from their sin, is to forsake and confess sin. If they don't want to pay that cost then mercy isn't going to be obtained..
If the diagnosis is already known by the patient then they don't need the doctor to keep bashing them with their problem. How tiring do you think that would be to you if you had someone bashing you with your problem that makes you feel bad and dirty, and don't receive any help but strictly bashing? So "love others as you love yourself". Find a way to bring the truth in love. Find a way to do it in a gentle, and humble spirit. Delicately going at what "needs" to be done first as the Spirit leads one so..

If they already know that it's bad and that it's going to lead them to hell then the next step may be to treat it. I say "may" because they may be in denial and they need it to be penetrated more but that doesn't mean sharpen up your swords and machetes and go after them. Even in this you ought to "love others as you love yourself". So if someone goes like, "well i know that but i'm a good enough person. So i think God will overlook it", then approach them with the God is just. Don't be talking in caps, or screaming. The words that one speaks can have enough power. You don't have to add drama. Talk to them about how God is just and that He can't "overlook it" because to do so would not be just. And God is not going to commit sin for them, or for anyone else..

If they aren't in denial then the next step is to treat it, or help them find help. This is where the scripture in Proverbs 28, and 1 John 1:9 comes in.

31 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If you need to, then go back up to where i talked about that verse, and get a new freshness about it. When you share this verse, or verses, with someone that's where the help is. Next for you is to pray for them. Because after that, it's between their heart and God.
So the next time you hear "judge not lest you be judged" don't think you've sinned by simply saying, "x action is sin and if not repented from you will not inherit the kingdom"..
So, remember to pray for the people that you witness to. The time that they have alone is the time they have alone with themselves, and that includes the guilt, the shame, the "unworthiness" to be forgiven by God, may be felt. So be praying for them! Be praying that they make Jesus their Lord. Lord is another word for King. When someone is King over someone they are to follow His commands. In this case it's commands, and in the same love that He acted in.

1 John 4:15 All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.

Romans 10:9-10 9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

So.. 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-84078365191748398872014-07-27T05:16:00.003-05:002014-08-06T12:54:13.395-05:00Weak in Faith?Psalm 37:11 ESV

But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

A person who is meek is submissive, like a child. Simply saying "Yes", in their heart, to the commands of God and walking in that. Those who walk in obedience will have abundant peace..

If you get told "your faith is weak" because you obey a command that another person may not, then don't believe it. How can your faith be weak when you are obeying God's word? That's not being "weak in faith", that's being "meek". And His word says they shall delight in abundant peace. So don't be trippin over one comment. Just know truth, pray for them, and continue to walk by the spirit. Romans 8

3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Also notice what it says in verse "7". Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God; nor indeed can be.

So flip that. To be "Spiritually minded" is to be subject to the law of God. To walk by the Spirit is to walk by God's law. Understand what i just said. To "walk by the Spirit" is to walk according to God's law. It's not about "feelings" or having "feelings" and "nudges" that are "walking by the Spirit". Feelings and nudges can be fine but that's not the foundation of what walking by the Spirit is.

God's word says to "put on".. compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,.. Colossians 3:12 If they ain't doing it with you then they need to "put it on". It's also a heart thing. It's not just the "outside". So don't focus more on that than the heart.. Pray for them..

And above all of this don't insult them, the people who may say you are "weak in faith", or use God's word as a machete. God's word is means of correction and you are going to correct someone, rebuke, or lead them more to Christ, then do it in a way that you would have it done to you. If that means taking time and reflecting how "you" would want it to be brought, then do it...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-44958254208914353482014-06-11T23:01:00.002-05:002014-06-11T23:01:36.822-05:00Cleansing Yourself From Dishonorable Acts2 Timothy 2:21

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable,
he will be a vessel for honorable use,
set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use,

If anyone wants to be sanctified they must surrender and be willing to say no to the things that must go in order to be sanctified. Or in other words, set apart from the world and set apart for God's use in your life..

As the scripture says "if anyone cleanses himself from what is "dishonorable" he will be a vessel for honorable use"...

If you want to be used for honorable things and you know you have be doing some dishonorable things then cleanse yourself from that by forsaking it and pray that God would do a work in your heart.. Steadfast obedience... a steadfast spirit...

If you confess your sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 The cleansing that you may partake in isn't the cleansing from unrighteousness but the forsaking... So that's what "cleansing yourself" is. It's the leaving of it..

Then.. he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

Do you have some work to do?.. John 3:17

God didn't need Jesus to condemn someone. The laws of sin and death already do that. Jesus was sent by God to set them free. So that they can be redeemed and set free from the law that condemns them without Christ..

He's not the enemy. He can act as an enemy towards someone who loves their sin instead of Him and wont repent. But even then He desires them to be saved. His word says so.

1 Timothy 2:4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Repent, forsake and confess sin, believe, and give God some thanks...

Psalm 103:8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

So those who have been trained by God's discipline have a harvest of righteousness and peace. That's an amazing harvest to have one day. Let God have His way with you through this discipline and know that sanctification isn't without a cost..

Galatians 2:20

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

The moment when a person is disciplined and feel down is the time to pray. Not going to the computer to avoid it. Not turning on the television or grabbing your iphone. Stay before Him and get transformed/sanctified..

2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Whatever you do make sure you don't run away, Don't grab your ipad to avoid being disciplined. If you do don't be surprised when it comes around again. Circles tend to be made. If the work doesn't get done don't be surprised when it comes around again.

So stay still and ask God to do a work in you. Making you more into His Son's image...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-10459992750446762162014-05-22T00:42:00.000-05:002014-05-22T00:42:05.685-05:00 2 Corinthians 4:17

For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

As big as our problems may seem, we are always bound to find someone whose problems are bigger. In some small way it is comforting to know our troubles won't last long in comparison to eternity. Yet, the glory we gain for our troubles is much greater and lasts forever. Be consoled in knowing your hardships make Christ's suffering for you even more personal, He knows what you are walking through. When your troubles get too big, look beyond this life and remember "all things shall work together for good for those that love God" Romans 8:28 and " He will complete the good work that He began in you" Phil 1:6

So trust God, have faith, and believe God's word. Giving thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ... 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thanking Him for salvation, the hope of a finished work and for being able to have the confidence that all things work together for good when you love God, by obeying His commandments..
Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

So don't dishonor President Obama. Even when he does make bad choices and has led this country wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right. Don't make any excuse to try and justify it either. If you're being convicted then repent..

Forsake and confess sin and you will receive mercy. Those who try and conceal their sins will not prosper. Proverbs 28:13

So "forsake" the dishonoring of President Obama and confess it to God if you are guilty.

Forsake evil and do good. Seek peace and "work" to maintain it. Psalm 34:14 Peace between God and man. Peace between God and you. Forsake and confess sin and then maintain that peace with God by not doing it again..Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-51882422675834104462014-05-22T00:34:00.003-05:002014-05-22T00:34:20.153-05:00James 5:19-20James 5:19-20

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Has anyone ever thought that these multitude of sins that would be covered would be for the person that brought them back?.. I used to..

Turns out it's not and the multitude of sins that would be covered would be to the person who came back..Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-58675288213710144382014-05-22T00:32:00.001-05:002014-05-22T00:32:41.292-05:00The River of GodSo what do rivers do? They cleanse....

Here's one analogy of how this river works.

Some people take off their clothes before going into the water. How a person enters into this river is like that. The person must take off their old garment, which was in sin, and go as you are. So that you can be cleansed and sanctified. Sanctified meaning set apart from the world...

The clothes that are to be taken off are located in Colossians 3:1-11...

Colossians 3:1-11

Living the New Life

3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

The "clothes" that you are to take off are the things that you partake in that is listed above. "Malicious behavior, slander, rage, sexual immorality, impurity, greed, lust, and evil desires" are some things to take off.

This next thing isn't the only way that it can operate, and it's certainly not something that will hinder the river from being poured out if God so chooses, but it's a type of picture that can help a person to focus on what it really is.

The river is mixed with the love, mercy, trust, grace, forgiveness, and you should even find your identity in it...

When you spend time in those things, through repentance and faith, you can be washed and cleansed. When you repent, you are to "forsake" sin and confess it. So when you enter into this river it's very important that you "forsake", or in other words "take off", the garment of your old nature. When you repent by forsaking and confessing you receive mercy from God.

Proverbs 28:13,

13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

"and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" that, my friend, is an awesome thing to have. You can be cleansed from ALL of the things that you are ashamed about. You can be cleansed and forgiven from all of those things as well as receive mercy from God when you forsake those things. Abandon them and you will receive mercy. God wants you back into a relationship with Him.

1 Timothy 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

God desires "Everyone" to be saved. Not just you but your relatives as well as your boss. Grace is unmerited favor and you are not the key holder...

When you spend time in this river you can be cleansed and also be built up in the truths of God's word. Your faith ought to increase and so should your trust. When you read the psalms and you come across something that is powerful then spend some time thinking about it. Or just be still and praise Him.. Enjoy the Bible, enjoy the love letter that is written in it. Soak it in and be washed by it...

Try not to be so quick in reading it. Sure you may of heard about certain things before but ask God to refresh it for you. Ask Him to make it personal or more alive to you. I asked for a different vocabulary and now I have one. He does do those types of things. He enjoys His work.. You are "not" a burden to Him...

So spend some time in the river. Spend time in His love. Spend time in His grace. Accepting and believing truth is how you can receive peace of mind and heart. When God's word says, "He will" that is a promise. Those promises are of value and they can not be overruled. God is a God of His word. He is faithful and His promises are true. Now and forever...

So spend some time being loved by God. Spend some time being washed by the tenderness of God. He's not going to smite you with lightning if you ask a question that you may think is "too small". He is not going to insult you or call you stupid for asking. He loves His children....

Some people may spend all of their time on earth hearing about the warnings of God's word without really getting more. The warnings are drunkards will be in Hell. Homosexuals will also be in Hell if not repented from. Sexual immorality, slanderers, gossipers, witchcraft, and the disobedient to parents will also be in Hell if not repented from.

When a person repents, believes in Jesus, and makes Him the Lord and Savior of their life they can be cleansed by the blood. The blood is what purifies and cleanses the person from a guilty conscious. It "purges" the conscious of the guilt that comes from the shameful things that they did in their past. Post the Hebrews verse about the blood...

Hebrews 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Did you read that? Did you catch what it said? It's saying the blood of Christ has the power to purge your conscious from the "dead works", in another words sin, so that you can serve the living God without having to be bound by your past failures. The blood of Jesus sets you FREE from those past mistakes. You are Forgiven...

So when you come out of the river don't put on the old garment but put on the new. Which is to be more like Jesus.

Colossians 3:12-17

12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

There's also another robe that one puts on but that's later. We are to do good works so that the robe can be made by those good works of obedience but the putting on of it is later. I believe it's for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb that happens "after" Babylon is destroyed. Revelation 18,19.

Notice the words of Jesus in John 7:38, 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart'...

Just like the river that washes, this river will flow from their heart. To go out and heal others. To go out and encourage the brokenhearted. To go out and be Christ's hands and feet to those who don't know Him...

Isaiah 55:1 "Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink--even if you have no money! Come,

Some extra scriptures...

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Psalm 103:10-14 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

Thank you Lord Jesus.. for making this possible!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-20808764053280211132014-05-21T22:35:00.002-05:002014-05-21T22:35:12.781-05:00Different Kinds of RepentanceThere are two different types of repentance. There is a version that Judas had and it was being sorry that he took money to betray Jesus. This type of sorry isn't the true repentance that can lead to salvation. Notice that he didn't turn to Jesus but ran away...

Matthew 27:1-5

27 Very early in the morning the leading priests and the elders of the people met again to lay plans for putting Jesus to death. 2 Then they bound him, led him away, and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor.

3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. 4 “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.”

“What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.”

5 Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.

Notice that Judas didn't go to Jesus in repentance. He went and hanged himself.

So yes being sorry is important but it is more than that. It's going to Jesus. Believing in your heart that Jesus is God's Son and died on the cross for your sins! It's not just saying sorry but it's a going to Jesus to make Him the Lord and Savior of your life and heart. Repenting from your sin meaning going the opposite. Seeking Christ...

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Matthew 18:2-4

2 Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. 3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven...

Unless you are humble as a little child you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Have you ever wondered what this looks like? Well lets look at what the other side looks like. Say one person has a lot of pride in what they've accomplished whether it be their degrees, their toys, their looks, and is rich. With this type of person they are proud of their life. Why would they need to become humble? They are living the "american dream"...

When this humbleness becomes a trait in a person is when they recognize how fallen they truly are and their need of a savior. When they realize that they truly need Christ and His sacrifice. The type of attitude that says, "why would you die for me? You say these words like "come to me" but do you even realize who i am and what i've done? I've done a lot of bad stuff. Why would you want me? What good could you possibly see in me? I'm wicked!"

To look at the face of Jesus and see Him say "I love you!" can be one of the most powerful, life changing, moments in ones heart... Jesus died an unjust death to save you. To pay your debt that you owe God by sinning against Him. Jesus, in the truest form, wants to take and pay your debt...

Will you make Him the Lord and Savior of your life and repent of your sin so that you and Him can be together forever?...

Here are some scriptures to read...

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 is an amazing verse. There are a lot of bad people out in the world but here it is saying that He doesn't wish that ANY should perish. That's pretty awesome that God would hold back His wrath. It's so important to have a humble heart...

Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

You will obtain mercy if you repent from your sin. Notice how it says "forsakes". This is apart of true repentance! Then after you confess your sins "and" forsake them you will obtain mercy. It's not just confessing but it's a combination of both. To forsake your sins is important.

As the Bible says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness".So confess your sins "and" forsake them. That is how you will obtain mercy through the sacrifice of Christ...

Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism is very important. It is to show that you have died to your old life, which was dead in sin, and you are raising to a new one in Christ. This is to show from a heart that is renewed. Not because it's something that you think can earn you to Heaven or a badge for you to gloat about. Gloating is not what it is there for.

Titus 3:5

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit

So it's not about what you do. Salvation is what Jesus did and the grace of God...

So to wrap this up repentance is a turning away from sin as well as asking for forgiveness. Turning away from sin is important because it shows that you're trying to change. Then as the bible teaches you will receive mercy. Don't forget to go to Jesus, it's very important. Don't do a Judas...

So go to Jesus. Surrender all of who you are, including the good things that you've done, at the foot of the cross. So you may learn what Paul meant in Philippians 3:8.

Philippians 3:8

8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
Here is the scripture to get this started...

Colossians 2:14

14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

There isn't a lot of talk at the pulpit with regard to these laws. Some people mix Colossians 2:14 into something that it doesn't say. Some people say that some of Old Testament commandments have been nailed to the cross. But how can the laws that are "holy, righteous, and good" be nailed to the cross? Romans 7:12. All of God's commandments can't be nailed to the cross because it's still bad to lie, it's still bad to steal, murder, and covet. God's commandments are for our best if we were to obey them. Certainly what came from God's own heart, for our best interest, hasn't been nailed to the cross and them alone don't stand against anyone condemning them. So what are the laws that stand condemning an unbeliever?...

The Laws of Sin and Death are the ordinances that are against an unbeliever condemning them. The laws basically teach that when someone sins, which all have, then they must die in order for the payment to be made. Or they can receive forgiveness through another person, or an animal, shedding their blood. There is no payment for the person without the shedding of blood. Christ and His sacrifice is very important!

So if you hear a message about Colossians 2:14 being preached about be aware if they fail to mention the laws of sin and death and or the content of... The laws of sin and death are the laws that are against a person. If they start to preach that God's commandments, that are for our good, have been nailed to the cross put a wall up... Colossians 2:14 is strictly talking about the laws of sin and death. That's it...

So since I mentioned "There is no payment for the person without the shedding of blood", lets see if there is a scripture to back this claim up.

Hebrews 9:22

22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

The reason why I mentioned "or an animal" above was because in the Old Testament they would offer sacrifices in faith in accordance with God's law. So with this passage below it will explain some important information about the difference between animal sacrifices and Christ's.

Hebrews 10:1-18

Christ's Sacrifice Once for All

10 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said,

“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”
8 When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9 then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. 10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,

16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,”
17 then he adds,

“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

So when you have your sins forgiven, through repentance, believing, and confessing, they are removed by the blood of the lamb. Proverbs 28:13. The Bible says the blood of goats and bulls can not take away sin. So the blood of Jesus is able to take it away. The blood of Jesus also as the power to remove your sin. Not just remove but to cleanse your conscious from those acts that you may be ashamed of because when you put your trust in God's word you can receive the peace of mind and heart that is truly amazing!...

Hebrews 9:14

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Same goes for an unbeliever too. When they repent, confess, and believe their sins can also be removed, through Jesus's blood, since the Bible teaches that Jesus died for the sins of all mankind.

John 1:29

29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

So His blood is efficient to save your boss, your daughter-in-law, your mom, and your dad. Anyone who comes through faith, repentance, confessing, and believing can be forgiven and made new. 2 Corinthians 5. The Bible also teaches God desires everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. So His grace is sufficient for you as well as everyone else...

But if they don't repent the laws of sin and death apply to them. Through Christ is the only way for them to be forgiven.

John 14:6

6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

So this is what Colossians 2:14 is talking about. These laws of sin and death are strictly what is being addressed. Don't be deceived into believing something contrary to God's law which is for our good.
The soul of the lost and saved is going to be talking about what happens with a person who is unsaved and doesn't have the spirit of God dwelling in them to guide them and give advice. Not only that but also going to mention what influences their choices. If you are saved then don't be discouraged because it talks more about being a saved person than a lost person. So click read more and discover some hidden truth...

Romans 12:1

12 And so, dear brothers and sisters. I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Psalm 19:7

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

So here we have a verse that is talking about converting the soul. People without Christ need salvation. They don't need to perform a bunch of commandments such as don't lie or don't steal. Although it is good not to do those things they need Christ because the laws of sin and death is what condemns them. What are the laws of sin and death? The laws that teach you have sinned so either you must die or someone must take your penalty, shed their blood, and die in order for you to be set free. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ nailed the laws of sin and death to the cross for every believer. If you want to read up on that check out Colossians 2:14. If repentance is something that interests you then please go to my other one titled, "Different Kinds of Repentance" and be helped...

Lets get back to the verse in Romans 12. What we find out is that by offering our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice that these are the kinds that God finds acceptable. That the presenting of your body in such a way is true worship. Please see my other one titled, "Walking By The Spirit" if you are looking for ways to worship God in Spirit. It doesn't get into all the detail but it narrows it down to what the person should be looking for and or seeking God's word and the commandments therein.

So hang onto that verse while I go onto Psalm 19:7.

The Bible says that the law of the Lord is perfect, "converting" the soul. A conversion of the soul is a change. So the Laws of God are there to change the believers soul to a more godly one. They are for our best interest anyways. It's good to obey and we receive blessings from such. Even in the small stuff...

So the soul is made up of reason, will, and emotions. Sometimes a persons soul is more emotional than reasonable. Sometimes a persons soul has a strong will but chooses not to reason things out thoroughly. These are not sinful but are okay. However if you want to change then it takes practice and prayer...

Another way this can come through is a person has emotions on bottom. Signifying that they are not their driving force. Then reason is the second layer. They use their reasoning skills to decide what is good or bad. Then having the will for last or better yet first they can appropriately choose what is best and honoring God.

Since God's laws convert the soul it's important to read God's commandments, study them, and meditate on why He may of set a certain one in place. When you find the reason it helps to appropriately apply them to your life. So I've been talking quite a bit, are there any scriptures to bounce this off of? Yes...

Romans 12:2

2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

So there it is. The way we can not copy the behavior of this world, or customs of, is by figuring out God's law and we are to surrender to God by letting our minds be changed to God's ways of doing things. Please read my post, "Walking By The Spirit" after you read this one...

So let us continue...

Psalm 19:7

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

How can we find out what are God's ways? God's commandments. They don't get preached about as often as they should but they are still in His word for you to discover. When you discover more of God's commandments, and see them in the light of the New Testament of which ones apply, you may learn and know what God's will is for you with regards to a situation that you're currently wondering about or a completely new one. They are good and pleasing and perfect, so lets trust Him as we discover, practice and obey...

I would like to step aside a bit and explain more of a believer and what is within them. There was one pastor and he talked about a believer basically having three sections and two doors. So I'm going to be elaborating off of that...

They have one and that is their body, the flesh, which is used to operate their will within their soul. The soul which is made up of reason, will, and emotions. And then there is their spirit. Within their spirit dwells the Holy Spirit who can give them a word of encouragement, knowledge, hope, as well as reminding you what Jesus says. When the Spirit gives you advice and guidance you may make a decision to obey God. If you can be faithful to God with small things you can then be exalted to be faithful with much....

Psalm 19:7

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

Within these three bubbles there are two doors. One between flesh and soul which can be opened or closed. Then there is one for the soul and spirit which can also be closed...

Some people may have the flesh open a bit and the door to the Spirit opened a bit. It can be a process to completely shut the door of the flesh, the influences, the advice, the desires which conjure up. But there is a promise in the new testament located in Philippians 1:6.

Philippians 1:6

6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

So spend time in growing in God's presence. When you spend time in His presence you can be healed from your past...

The door between soul and spirit may be the one that is closed and the flesh opened. This is a bad thing to have happen if it does get closed. If our flesh is giving input and not our spirit we can be in trouble...

Now about the unsaved person. They have a body, soul, and spirit as well. But their spirit has not be quickened to life, in other words born again. They need to be born again through Christ. So without being quickened to life they get their advice from their flesh and desires of. The knowledge of this world. Once a person who is lost hears God's word and the truth of that is how they can be saved.

Galatians 6:8

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

So there are two doors. You can either choose to sow to one or the other. The soul, your will, reason, and emotions, are between them both. This is where the armor of God can help as well. Please read Ephesians 6.

It's important to know how to sow to the Spirit. Ways that you can sow to the Spirit is obedience to God. Being renewed in His commandments helps one sow to the Spirit and reap everlasting life. Here is a chapter if you want to read about God's commandments and what they meant to people back in the Old Testament, Psalm 119.

Some commandments are do not lie, do not steal, do not covet. Honor your father and mother in the Lord. Not to take God's name in vain. This means not to attach a curse word to God's name. But that's not the only way you can take God's name in vain. There is one where it links up with one's sinful lifestyle and if they bear His name in such. Then there is the commandment that says "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy"...

That is on Saturday from dawn to dusk. Here are some chapters if you want to do a study, Exodus 20 and Isaiah 58. If you want more information please leave a comment below or send me an email. Do whatever it takes to find true truth!..

As Psalm 139:23-24 says...

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Psalm 51:10-11

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

So this is all a process. When you come across one of God's commandments and you don't understand seek for the understanding. Job 28:28, Exodus 20:20...

Ask God for wisdom...

James 1:5

5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

"Walking By The Spirit" flows right from this so if you have time or enjoyed this one try the other and see what you think sometime...

Have a good day.

I know I've been in a mess..."

The Bible says if you confess your sins that He is faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

The power is found in the blood of Jesus at the cross. Jesus Christ was..pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

A person's peace can be found in Him. The peace that a person's soul longs for without knowing it comes through Jesus Christ. When you have peace between God and your heart, without guilt and shame getting in the way, your soul can begin to enjoy His presence. His mercy, His unfailing love, and His grace..

So it's important that you believe that Jesus died for your sins and it's also important to "repent" from them. This repentance deals with forsaking sin, confessing it, and turning to God. Surrender your life to Jesus and follow Him..

The Bible says if you confess your sins and forsake them that you will receive mercy...Proverbs 28:13

So do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Are you ready to surrender your life to God and His Son?... Have you truly counted the cost for surrendering? It's not promised to be easy. In fact Jesus says in this world "you will" have tribulation. That's a promise and it is true. Any christian can testify of that they have been through tribulation of some kind when they truly think about it..

But God doesn't leave us alone. His word says, "He will never leave us nor forsake us". So be sure that you count the cost. Be sure that you are aware of what truly may come. Are you ready to truly "surrender"? When troubles show up, because Jesus says we will have them, will you put your trust in God?..

The Bible says, "all things" work together for good for those that love God...

This "love" is a mix of heart and deeds. Obeying God's commandments is what this "loving God" consists of. So when you obey God through all and any circumstance you have this promise to lean back on. This is most definitely worth our obedience don't you think?..

So as the Bible says if you confess your sins He is faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. This is something that we do not deserve. This is apart of the grace that God gives.

The grace that "you" need...

So the Bible says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are "justified" and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;

Phil 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God bless you..
A person who clings to their denominational teachings when they have knowledge of God's word saying things that are contrary to them...

God's word is always better than any and all fluffed up deception. Deception, no matter how fluffy, can not and will not withstand the fire. Truth is and always will be victorious. Truth is what sets people free. If someone is reading this and this is tugging on your heart then drop what you are doing and repent. That is "forsake" the false teachings that you have accepted over God's word and believe true truth..

John 14:23

Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them..

Anyone who loves Him will obey "His" teaching. Analyze your heart and see if you are of the faith. Don't deceive yourself by calling yourself a believer if you would rather deliberately, and knowingly, hold onto man's teachings than God's. It's better to be ice cold than it is to deceive oneself by calling themselves a believer when they are not. If you would rather have deception and lies to make your flesh feel good then you are not carrying your cross like you ought to. Don't be deceiving yourself. Falsehood and lies will not withstand the fire of God. Remember, this is about "doctrines of man over God's". If a person would rather cling to the doctrine of man and not to God they shouldn't call themselves a believer. A believer believes in God's word..

2 Corinthians 13:5

Put yourselves to the test to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize regarding yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you--unless, indeed, you fail the test!

Lamentations 3:40

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.

Revelation 3:20

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

It'll be a dreadful day for the one that thought they were a sheep when they were actually a goat in God's eyes. It's very important that a person who has that problem above to take 2 Corinthians 13:5 seriously. If you know of a person who is in this problem pray for them. Pray for them like you would your own kid! Sincere, passionate, prayers. Pray that God would show their heart to them in full reality of where they will spend eternity if they don't turn their heart, and face, and believe true truth..

Matthew 16:24-25

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it

Matthew 10:38

Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Believing God's truth and obeying is apart of that "taking up one's cross". Whoever you may put clout in whether it be a pastor, or people who are wealthy, do not and i repeat do NOT hold onto your status of being in a certain denomination for x amount of years, neither should you cling to your pastor teachings higher than that of obedience to God and His word when you have knowledge and understanding of God's word saying things that are contrary to the denominational/pastors teachings..

If there is someone here and is like, "well I don't know if I am following anything bad or wrong. I want to be following God's word" then please understand who i am talking to. I'm addressing the kind of people who would rather hold onto a "symbol" of being a Catholic, etc., over God's word when they "know" and "understand" God's word saying things that are against that religion. That's not the only religion that has issues either, so be praying that God would reveal to you where you would need to get right with Him and lead you in the path of life everlasting if there is anything..

Psalm 139

For the choir director: A psalm of David.

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. 5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! 7 I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! 8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. 9 If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, 10 even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. 11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night- 12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. 13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! 18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up, you are still with me! 19 O God, if only you would destroy the wicked! Get out of my life, you murderers! 20 They blaspheme you; your enemies misuse your name. 21 O Lord, shouldn't I hate those who hate you? Shouldn't I despise those who oppose you? 22 Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Being on your knees is not a weakness. Nor should you feel "hopeless". God's word says "being confident in this that He who began a good work in you will carry it unto completion at the day of Christ Jesus". If you need someone to talk to, or just have someone to listen, then leave a comment. Give me your email and let me get into contact with you...
There's also a time to strap up your boots and learn some truth. Don't fall in love with encouragement and or inspirational feelings or else the man of a flattery tongue may come by and swoop you away...

Proverbs 4:6
Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-36588496535988251502014-02-22T20:16:00.000-06:002014-02-28T03:27:35.126-06:00Stay strong in your faith, and your first love, so that you don't deliberately sin. Never forget the first hello. The "amazing grace". The "i was lost but now i am found". The joy of salvation is to be yours. When you obey you can have peace of mind and heart from the guilt and shame. It's not like you don't know what that guilt and shame feels like. When you obey it has no place...

So then you're able to go to sleep in peace as you trust in the Lord. You're able to walk around knowing that you are living in obedience and not be "jittery". He wont let you be tempted beyond what you can bare so it is possible to be Holy. 1 Corinthians 10:13 Yes our bodies are not "holy" yet. But that doesn't mean our choices can't be.

"Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness."

You are a new creation, those who are born again, all things are new..

Can we not do "all things in the strength of Christ"? Wouldn't living holy be included in the "all things"..? It's disgusting to see preachers preach that we will never be holy on this earth. They don't understand scripture and that is certainly NOT how you make disciples...

Has obedience become an impossible thing? What makes it impossible for those that believe such? Misunderstandings of commandments and sometimes the total elimination of some...

Not only are they "teaching it"though but the word "will" is spoken. That is coming from a "preacher!". That is a "CURSE!". What kind of food is that to spread to their sheep? That aint going to help in making disciples. What kind of "drive" is it going to bring? It brings laziness from that curse...

It's wicked, it's a lie, it's false, it's teaching against God's word when it says, "This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus."

What kind of people are they going to be if they are keeping God's commands? Holy people. But what people preach is false. Lazy eyes and sleepiness is what comes forth... So be aware of these preachers y'all.. Ask God to awaken your ears...

His blessings are a reward from our obedience. But if you disobey then cursing and or consequences will come forth. "Reap what you sow"...

Have a mindset that is in Heaven. As you are walking in Heaven would you ever deliberately choose to sin? Why? Because God's there? Because you see Heaven? The Bible gives a promise for those that believe that they will be in Heaven. When you are here God is already everywhere. Spend time in His presence to the point where He's in your mind as you come across situations and then obey. Yes you "may" fall but "deliberate" sin is different than an accident. But also don't label it an accident if you willfully chose to get into it. Get very serious about your obedience and "strive" for holiness. But spend time in His presence each day as well. Pray about specifics. Ask Him to give you strength, peace, remind you that you're loved, remind you of the joy of your salvation.. Discover what you need and be specific. Speak your prayers... Speak your requests... This is "the life in Christ"..

Yes it's different than your old life. It's a different mindset. This is walking as Christ walked... The "carrying your cross"...

Romans 6

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen?..
Love sets people free and sometimes gives people the power to branch out. As the Bible says, neither death nor life nor prince nor demons shall separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. That love is the unity for not only God and Jesus but should be the oneness that connects the rest of us.. It's a beautiful symphony... Love is the conductor and Joy, mercy, and grace are the singers...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05729870183037471791noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-836576269037953531.post-22241543544383703672014-01-05T02:29:00.003-06:002014-01-05T03:35:45.738-06:00Is Your Heart Thirsty?...
Why are so many people thirsty for other peoples bodies? It's not like what they're seeking for is actually going to quench it but their flesh seeks it. Why is that? Why does the flesh seek after something so much but it can never satisfy? Because the flesh can never truly satisfy. The person is trying to fill a desire of their spirit, which is life. If you continue to try and satisfy that desire by means of the flesh it won't be fulfilled. God made you and He knows what to plant in you so that you come to Him...

People are thirsty. But they go for flesh satisfaction instead of Jesus. Why would a person want satisfaction? Some people do it because they don't feel like they have purpose or an identity. Some people may do something to quiet something else whether it be guilt, shame, or embarrassment for what they did in the past. So while it's true that one can receive forgiveness and mercy, i'm going to talk about something else. Something that can fulfill that desire deep within. You can have your guilt, shame, and embarrassment wiped clean when you believe and repent. The blood of Jesus is able to wipe away all of your sins and mistakes...

John 7:37

Jesus says, “let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink".

Because the water that He is able to give truly satisfies the desire that you have. God has the means for you to be satisfied. He has the tools to give you so that you can live a life of true fulfillment and true satisfaction in your heart. If you don't forsake and confess the deeds of sin, which result is death, you can't receive true satisfaction. But if you do choose to forsake and confess you will receive mercy from God.

Proverbs 28:13

13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.

When you are thirsty drink of the truth in God's word. Drink of the truth that He desires for you to be saved. The Bible says while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Jesus loves you not because you first loved Him but because you matter to Him. You are precious. You are worth dying for! Jesus didn't see you as worthless to be tossed aside. He willingly laid down His life to save you. So stop believing those thoughts of lies that say you are of no worth. He died for you. "There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends". He was bruised for your iniquities. He loves you....

John 15:12-13

12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

So go to the Savior that can give you a satisfying life and a true "identity". One that a person isn't ashamed about because their mind has been renewed. They may know that receiving a true identity, and standing up in it, is truly one of the greatest blessings one can receive. Jesus is the King of kings. To be a son or daughter of the God Most High, whose Son is Jesus, is a wonderful identity to stand behind. But don't let it just be a title or a type of plaque that you hang on your wall...

So start with forsaking sin. Forsake the very thing that is keeping you away from God. Forsake the very things that are keeping you away from a life filled with peace as you grow in your knowledge and wisdom of God's word. Forsake the things that you are being convicted about. Peace comes from knowing, and trusting, that you will receive mercy when you forsake and confess. Get in His presence as a spirit that is broken and reach out for who He is. Don't try and clean up your life before you come. Grace is unmerited favor meaning you didn't do anything to deserve it. That's the only way a person is saved is through this grace...

Psalm 51:17

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

Look at those words! He "desires" a sacrifice that is of a broken spirit. One who comes to Him as a child is able to receive healing and restoration. Both of which I believe are great blessings. He will never reject a child....

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.

Matthew 5:3-4

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Isaiah 55:1

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come,...

That one was just one verse and the rest of chapter 55 is listed below....

Isaiah 55:1-13

Invitation to the Lord’s Salvation

55 “Is anyone thirsty?
Come and drink—
even if you have no money!
Come, take your choice of wine or milk—
it’s all free!
2 Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength?
Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the finest food.
3 “Come to me with your ears wide open.
Listen, and you will find life.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you.
I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.
4 See how I used him to display my power among the peoples.
I made him a leader among the nations.
5 You also will command nations you do not know,
and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey,
because I, the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.”
6 Seek the Lord while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near.
7 Let the wicked change their ways
and banish the very thought of doing wrong.
Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them.
Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
10 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens
and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow,
producing seed for the farmer
and bread for the hungry.
11 It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
12 You will live in joy and peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song,
and the trees of the field will clap their hands!
13 Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow.
Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up.
These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name;
they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.”

Don't forget it starts with repentance. So forsake all sin that you know shouldn't be there and look to Him for help. He is faithful to keep you away from to much temptation. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted He doesn't leave you, He provides a way out so that you can endure. So sincerely repent and believe. Then try to look to get baptized so that you can obey....
